About Me
Background
I was born in Lisbon, Portugal, and grew up in Coimbra, where I pursued my studies in Management and Organizations at the University of Coimbra. After graduating, I was hired as an Assistant Professor at the School of Economics at the same university. I went on to complete my Master’s in Organizational Studies at the University of Coimbra, which included a year abroad at Virginia Tech, where I took MBA courses.
Driven by a desire for new challenges, I enrolled in a PhD program at the Brazilian School of Public and Business Administration at the Getulio Vargas Foundation in Brazil. After earning my PhD, I joined the faculty as a professor. Since then, I have held several leadership roles, including head of the MSc and PhD programs, coordinator of the Graduate Programs (CFAP), and director of the Research Program (ProPesquisa).
My research primarily focuses on the behavioral aspects of organizational studies, with a particular emphasis on leadership, behavioral ethics, negotiation, culture, and decision-making.
On a personal note, I am a proud father of three wonderful children and an enthusiastic supporter of Benfica. I enjoy traveling, everything beach-related, and wine-tasting. Additionally, I am a fan of "Game of Thrones," captivated by its intricate plots, rich character development, and the complex interplay of leadership, power, and politics in its historical context.
